  1. Debbie skillfully employs the zoom-out technique and the word link ("quilting" /"stitch") to give the reader this colorful image of a bee in a vast expanse of prairie with train tracks across it. This haiku reminds me of one of my favorite poems by Emily Dickinson:

    To make a prairie (1755)

    To make a prairie it takes a clover and one bee,
    One clover, and a bee,
    And revery.
    The revery alone will do,
    If bees are few.
